Venture Club
Edward Shackleton, son of the Antarctic Explorer, was the Partnership’s Chief Registrar in the 1950s and was Chair of the Venture Club. At that time the 33 members from 16 branches participated in walking and climbing holidays in Snowdonia but later tried locations further afield and extended their range of activities to include golf, swimming, climbing, abseiling, canoeing and cycling.
During the evenings, activities included folk dancing, ballroom dancing and Rock & Roll!
