Sailing Club memories

I joined the Partnership from the Merchant Navy in 1964 (I think!) at Bon Marche in Brixton. I was engaged as a Circuit Trainee – 6 months in each of 4 departments – and then promoted to Section Manager of Toys and Garden Furniture. It was during my training that I answered a Gazette advert to join the T. S. Winston Churchill for a week’s trip from Portsmouth to Weymouth and then across the Channel to Cherbourg and back.
Since then I have enjoyed over 53 years sailing with the Partnership Sailing Club, and feel honoured to still be a part of a great team of nautical enthusiasts!
