Oxford Summer School

Miss J Langhorne was the first Partner to attend the Drapers’ Chamber of Trade’s Annual Summer School at Balliol College, Oxford, in August 1924. From that time onwards the Partnership has continued to send delegates to the event to mix with other retail recruits meeting with retail experts, attending lectures, undertaking project work and visiting local places of interest.

Suspended during WWII it reconvened in 1947 when four Partners attended at Wadham College Oxford. The Summer School continues today training the talented retailers of the future.
