Bracknell

In 1967, to cope with the increase in trade due to the development of the supermarket, the Board discussed the possibility of building a warehouse west of London in Bracknell new town. The new building was first occupied in 1971 and by 1972 dry goods were moved into the 2,200,000 square foot fully automated warehouse, relieving the strain on the previous warehousing at Greenford. There was also a three storey office block on a site totalling 8 acres.

By 1996 this had increased to 54 acres including two office blocks, four warehouses, two car parks and the Central Vehicle Workshop. The site continued to expand with another major recent development being the creation of Jubilee House, the hub of Waitrose IT operations in 2002. Work continues today to ensure support for the continuing growth of the business.
