John Lewis Partnership Heritage Centre in Odney

The Heritage Centre, Odney

The Partnership’s archives had been housed in  warehouses in Stevenage since the 1960s. The sale of the building meant the archives needed a new home.

The then Partnership Archivist,  Judy, came up with the idea to house the Partnership’s archive and textile collection at Grove Farm on the Odney Estate so that Partners from all over the business could access their heritage.

When the idea of creating a Heritage Centre at Odney was first proposed, the Pottery and Grove farm buildings were falling into disrepair but with careful planning and construction the Heritage Centre was completed.  It was officially opened by then Chairman Charlie Mayfield in October 2013.

The Heritage Centre is open to all on Saturdays between 10am-4pm.  Admission is free and no appointment is required.
